Dubtitled Entertainment : Biz Plan

Dubtitled Entertainment takes forward the ideas of practical execution perfected by the hip hop generation in the music industry over the past quarter century of licensing , sampling, and remixing both popular and obscure audio content into the new millennial world marketplace of international video based multimedia content.

Dubtitled Model : License, Sample, & Remix

We affordably license, sample, and remix classic video catalog content from historically popular genres in television and films from around the globe, such as Asian martial arts films for worldwide use, and then transform them into new modern hybrid products aimed at a demographic known as the "Casual Gamer", or a person raised on video games as one of their most preferred forms of entertainment, without degrading the perceived historic value to purveyors of any of the original content whose ages can run broadly from under fifteen to over fifty years old.

Dubtitled Format : Modular Multimedia

We build our "Dubtitled" products to fit a multitude of delivery outlets ranging from traditional 100 episode broadcast television syndication models, to smaller international television licensing models, to VOD and Mobile delivery models, to new internet subscription models and even re-combination models for "anthology" style theatrical film releases in theaters and on dvd.

Dubtitled Template : Match, Mix, & Brand

The "Dubtitled" template in all of these cases is to identify a globally popular genre such as classic Hong Kong made kung fu films from the 1970's, then license the rights to as many as one hundred of these films primarily for domestic television syndication opportunities first, then we match them to a suitable genre of music and license a catalog of genre appropriate songs to re-score the series, and then we brand them collectively under a single unifying umbrella name such as "Kung Faux", which we have already done successfully as our first Dubtitled Entertainment produced property aka "Kung Faux".

The newly identifiable overall branded name establishes the basic marketing umbrella for the new "Dubtitled" hybrid genre, but in addition to the new music score, the new visual fx treatments and audio sound effects added by us to the otherwise stock footage are what really solidify the genre brand's new globally recognizable image and style no matter what language it is ultimately subtitled or dubbed into, so that consumers around the world know that it is an authentically unique "Dubtitled" product.

Dubtitled Specialty : Editing, Scoring, & Celebrity Voiceovers

We completely re-edit the video footage into new self contained half hour stories with state of the art visual effects, new foley audio work and sound effects, a completely new music score containing hit music from around the world, and a new story line dubbed by globally relevant pop culture celebrities as our key voice over actor artists.

Dubtitled Brands : Licensed Globally

This newly created genre "brand", now as a newly copyrighted entity, can then now also license it's newly branded creative audio and visual content to all potential forms of licensable merchandising outlets ranging from clothing to toys , to art books, graphic novels and comic books, to ring tones and wallpapers, to dvds and music soundtracks on cd, to video games and mobisodes around the world. "Kung Faux", our first Dubtitled brand property, can now be seen in approximately forty different countries.

Dubtitled Comparisons : Batman meets Power Rangers

We strive to be eventually compared to the half century old "Godzilla" movie franchise series, the pioneering and ubiquitous"Speed Racer" cartoon franchise, and the genre defying "South Park" animated series. While we are currently often compared to the classic and farcical "Batman" TV series from 1960's America for our similar pop art meets live action comic book mash ups, as well as the Japanese meets American produced "Power Rangers" juggernaut for our similar live action manga meets video game fx mix.

Dubtitled Content : Popular Worldwide

Our first Dubtitled Entertianment genre brand property now known as "Kung Faux" consists of classic Hong Kong kung fu films, licensed, sampled, and remixed into freestanding half hour television episodes, full of hit music from the classic Tommy Boy Records catalog, primarily from the hip hop genre, as well as voiceovers of the series characters by such globally recognized hip hop and pop culture luminaries as the seminal Afrika Bambaataa, the omnipresent Biz Markie, and the Oscar nominated Queen Latifah. All of which have proven themselves individually worldwide as bankable genres and talent made even more popular in combination with each other in the creation of a new brand of "Dubtitled" produced content.

"Kung Faux" can currently be seen on both new cutting edge and historic television networks in numerous countries around the world today, not to mention many of the most prominent internet entertainment sites, and globally progressive mobile phone networks. We have even licensed the "Kung Faux" series back to Hong Kong to one of their most cutting edge TV networks known as "Channel [V]", a division of China's "STAR Network", after originally licensing the core video content for this series from this same country.

For more information on "Kung Faux" visit our website at ( www.KungFaux.com ), and for more intricate details visit our designated website page created for the press at : ( www.KungFaux.com/PressKit ), where you will see all of our license holders, merchandising, product developments, press, news items, video clips, music, and even little known trivia tidbits.

Dubtitled Expertise : International Treasure Hunting

Dubtitled Entertainment goes into the basements of entertainment companies long neglected vaults containing what some might call dusty lumps of coal to find what we believe to be a potential cache of diamonds in the rough that we know will eventually display their full brilliance once we apply our unique formula of intense production pressure and inspired creative machination to them all under a unifying genre brand produced by "Dubtitled Entertainment".

Dubtitled ROI : 100% in an Average of Three Years

The full process of "return on investment" results in approximately three years due to the first year taking up resources for licensing and production, while the second year then begins the collection of revenue, which on an average results in measurable profitability in year three, and the potential for 100% profitability by year three to five if not sooner, while always having the security of equity ownership in the actual original licensed audio and video content for a possible third party sale, in addition to the potential for sustained revenue profit in perpetuity through a lifetime of licensing.

Dubtitled Outlook : Little Competition & Growing Demand

Competition in our field is currently sparse with products cheaper than ours being generally poor quality user generated one-offs or unsustainable series concepts with little demand outside of their specific country of origin, and with our production prices being nearly impossible to match by traditional production companies based in the United States, combined with the international success of our first branded series, "Kung Faux", as our pioneering working model, we currently reside in an optimal supply versus demand space with little competition and maximum demand for our incredibly adaptable format and easily sustainable quality content.

Dubtitled Goal : Increased Investment & First Mover Advantage

Our plan is to consistently claim this open space with our first-mover advantage as soon as possible and with as much power as possible, and with power equating to money more often that not, and with the fact that we have proven our "Dubtitled" formula can now work worldwide, we are currently accepting qualified individual investors or corporations both domestic and international with significant liquid assets or easily convertible stock options to help us build our stable of new "Dubtitled" genre brands in the coming years with the power that additional outside funding can provide for the build up of increased productions for licensing while on our way to a potential sale of some or all of our expanded "Dubtitled Entertainment" catalog of branded series to a major multi-media conglomerate, if we are not completely content with our annual revenue dividend generation in general at any point in time.

Dubtitled Security : Equity & Exit Strategy

The security in this "Dubtitled" model formula is that a large portion of any money invested will go to actual ownership of the audio and video content needed to build the new hybrid genre brands, with the rest going into the production process needed to thoroughly remix and brand these new hybrid genre catalogs, so there will always be a substantial amount of real equity valued property available for re-sale or liquidation as an exit strategy if necessary, as opposed to only hopeful speculation and empty promises.

The idea is to build multi-media content catalogs that generate revenue in perpetuity that can also be sold after years of fruitfulness, but our unique combination of expert acquisitions of basic audio and video content and smart rudimentary branding before physical production begins can create a instantly heightened value in the newly combined sum of their parts even before these parts have been completely merged into a final product, and an example of this concept can be equated to buying "IKEA" branded furniture where you know exactly what you are going to get in the box even before it is assembled. You can pay more and wait for it to be assembled and delivered, or you can save some money by picking up all of the pieces in box and assembling it yourself.

Dubtitled branded series will have the ability to sell the bundled licensed content for the series in a "Ready To Assemble" fashion just as easily as it can in the more valuable completely assembled and fully delivered fashion to allow for an easy exit strategy if needed.

Dubtitled Diversity : Syndication to Consulting

Although Dubtitled Entertainment is primarily focused on building "syndication" sized genre brands for the international television market that can then be re-packaged into flexible modular formats to fit every multimedia platform and licensing opportunity available, we will always also be open to the possibility of co-productions with other companies, wholesale selling of basic pitches, and even third party consulting as we have done in the past with such genre leading brands as video game publisher, "Rockstar Games", Grammy winning musicians, "Gnarls Barkley", and Action Sports brand legends, "Zoo York".

Dubtitled Principals : Diverse & Legendary

The managing partners of "Dubtitled Entertainment" consist of the diverse "Dubtitled Entertainment" founder, ( Michael ) Mic Neumann, who for more than a decade has been a secret weapon consultant to players in the entertainment, advertising, marketing, and boutique hotel industry with his company "Popdetail, Inc." ( www.Popdetail.com ), as well as Tom Silverman, who is celebrating more than a quarter century of success as the founder and CEO of his legendary and award winning record label and namesake "Tommy Boy Records" ( www.tommyboy.com ), in addition to being a dedicated investor and consummate philanthropist.

We really don't know why we waited so long to put this piece of love up, but it is never too late to be AWESOME ! - ( Read Review Below ):

"Kung Faux": Review Written by Steve Johnston @ ( www.TheFilmCynics.com )

For the most part, television remains a world nearly devoid of risks and innovation. It is a place where the folks in charge do their best to play it safe out of fear of damaging their tenuous position at the top of the heap. So something as artistic as, say, Postmodernism would be out of the question in the higher echelons of pop-culture. Ironically though, Hip-Hop music has been relying a lot on reconstituting old hits into new ones in a kind of risk-free postmodernism - so the value of "PoMo" as a stylistic choice can't be completely written off. Kung Fu revisionist Mic Neumann for example, has an offering worthy of the PoMo canon, alongside Godard's Weekend and Bunuel's Chien Andalou. But in case the mere mention of postmodernism has you hitting the snooze button, allow me to be clear: What we're dealing with here is old-school kung fu movies, sliced down to the best bite sized morsels, re-dubbed by a bunch of Hip-Hop smartasses and electro-defectified with future-retro graphics and Hiiyah! You've got the ultimate postmodern martial arts mash-up. Like a Saturday morning cartoon on steroids meant for those weaned on Coleco, Strawberry Honeycombs and B-Boy style boombastic. Kung Faux is all of this and more! If you're lucky you might have caught the show on IFC, Showcase or MusiquePlus. If you're really lucky, you got caught up in the fever and bought yourself a few volumes on DVD like I did. This is something I've been known to spring on houseguests that were still hungry for more after a round of sci-fi action movies. Those, who like me, dig straight up kung fu movies as much as the braggadocios and comedic elements of hip hop culture. Gag dubbing is nothing new - Woody Allen made an art of it with What's Up Tiger Lily? What Mic Neumann offers is the mood to go with the voices - a virtual backdrop to create an entirely new visual and auditory feast for the Kung Fu junkie in you. The stories revolve around simple and familiar plots - young clumsy kid has to deal with local street toughs, goofy kickboxer tries to avenge his friend's death. With simple additions like a pothead sensei and a Chinese crime boss with a suspicious Jamaican accent, the avant-garde factor begins to emerge. Spellbinding might be overstating the show's cleverly crafted visual spectacle, but it's fair to say that there is always something happening on screen, even when there are no punches being thrown. To be sure, the shoddy state of the material goes a long way to offer some authenticity to the project, but any degradation is rendered irrelevant through the use of clever techno-trickery to give everything the electro pop sheen of an 80s console game. Subtitles, logos and enhancement FX provide plenty of supplemental energy to the show. This is exactly the kind of thing you'd expect to see playing on a closed circuit television at the coolest bar you've ever been to. But if you're watching it with the sound off, you're only getting half the thrill. Kung Faux holds up both ends of the dual nature of great television - the audio is as heavily produced as the video. Thoughtfully chosen tracks and a thoroughly engineered soundscape are exactly the kinds of things you'd expect from something coming out of the hallowed halls of Tommy Boy, and Kung Faux is no exception. Oddly enough, and I can't believe that I'm saying this, one of the cooler features on the DVD is the ads which fill out the episodes to a proper half hour. Kudos for being able to raise some sponsorship capital while still holding on to some precious street cred with ads for And1 videos and Heavy.com. A karaoke game to lay down your own vocal version of the show is also included as a thoughtful bonus. Historically, kung fu movies have always been synonymous with shoddy overdubbing. With long forgotten martial artists working their magic on the screen and Hip-Hop mavericks like Roc Raida and Guru laying down the wisecracks, Kung Faux is as innovative as it is hilarious. What I like best about Kung Faux is that it's in the spirit of Saturday morning cartoons, but they are tailor-made for me - an aging channel flipper with a few more pounds and a few less hairs. From its rare tracks to its constant wisecracks, Kung Faux just oozes Hip-Hop in its most fun form. ###

February 14th, 2007 - ( New York City )
Our fans have been sending us some great Valentine's Day notes this month including these two little bits of lovingly truthful trivia that show the worldwide reach our personal creativity can have on forces felt by some to still be far greater in industry stature than our little empire courtesy of the worldwide website ( www.wikipedia.org ).

Check out the following two trivia extractions from the "wikipedia" pages, first regarding Director Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof" portion of the double bill film with Director Robert Rodriguez titled "Grindhouse", and then secondly about the multi-platinum selling American rock band known as "The Killers". ( see excerpts & links below ):

Grindhouse ( film )-Death Proof-Trivia: ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grindhouse_(film) )
The "Skull & Lightening Bolts" logo used on the car in the film's Death Proof poster is inspired by the the "Skull & Chopsticks" logo used in the international kung fu comedy tv and dvd series known as Kung Faux, as can be seen here at the Kung Faux fan site known as BentoBox.TV[1], after Director Quentin Tarantino met successfully with Kung Faux creator Mic Neumann to discuss working together in the future on the Dragon Dynasty brand of kung fu related film, tv, and dvd projects during the production of the film "Grindhouse".[2]

The Killers ( band )-Trivia: ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Killers_(band) )
The font style used for the band,"The Killers", logo was inspired by the website logo of a company called DUBTITLED Entertainment that shared an office in NYC with Martin Heath during the year he first signed the band to his Lizard King Records label and began expanding operations into the USA from the UK.

Every idea comes from somewhere and it's great to see what "Kung Faux" and "Dubtitled" have influenced over the years, so please keep sending us these chocolate covered bits of fun facts even if it is not Valentine's Day, because we love pounding our chest and acting like big shots every chance we get, so thank you again for all of the love!

February 12th, 2007 - ( New York City )

For more news and information on the band, their win, and their tour, visit their website at ( www.GnarlsBarkley.com ). You know we keep telling you all to just drink the "Kung Faux" Kool-Aid and "Join FITE Club" before it is too late ( www.JoinFiteClub.com ), but I guess it is true when they say you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink. Is the "Kung Faux" series high art? or worthy of academic study? Some institutions seem to think so, as "Kung Faux" becomes a project worthy of study in the "Media & Arts" study program at the prestigious "Duke University" after appearing in such critically acclaimed NYC art institutions as the "Studio Museum of Harlem" and the "Bronx Museum of New York". Curators and scholars see "Kung Faux" as a prime example of the phenomenon of African American pop culture's appropriation and recontextualization of Asian pop culture and especially Martial Arts into the larger lexicon of the Mass Media and International Art. All we know is that it doesn't suck to be mentioned in the same breath as such hot artists as Chris Ofili, Takashi Murakami, Kara Welker, and Tenmyouya Hisashi, or prestigious NYC Museums, and heralded Universities.
